Fly Sports GT
Shelmore Park (11/8/20)
This penultimate round of the Fly Sports GT series saw a familiar bunch of 3 cars fighting out the podium placings once again. It was the pocket rocket Porsche 908 of Phils that took out this weeks round with a solid drive on 107 laps, with Adrian 2nd on 104. Adrian’s tally might have been slightly down on what he could have achieved had he not been unlucky enough to spend the best part of half a lap sharing my own lane. Although, I suppose at least in my lane his car was travelling slowly enough to make retrieval of it & getting it back in the correct lane a simple process. Rob Golleys car had some minor issues in finishing 3rd on 103 that eventually saw him finish with a slightly smaller car than he’d started with. The rest of it was strewn around various parts of the track at regular intervals.
A very tight battle for 4th & 5th saw JB on 99 laps pip yours truly by a corner, and in turn saw us 2 laps clear of another great battle for 6th & 7th between Dave Bantoft & Rhys on 97. DB won the day on this occasion. Thomas Males Porsche was 8th on 93 laps and the car was certainly competitive……...or at least would have been had someone other than me been proxying it !.....Sorry Tom ! It did just manage to stay ahead of Dave Gray who finished in 9th on 91 though. Chris Priest in another of the well presented Porsches took out the 10th position on 87.
1st - Phil, 2nd - Adrian, 3rd - Rob
