V8 Supercars Scalex - Mornington Park
(17-11-20)
Well, its been a couple of weeks but
having registered my disgust with the website editing changes & also having
been out of action myself for a week or so anyway, I thought it best that we
get things back up and running again.
And what better way to start than with
round 5 of the V8 Supercars at Dave Grays track at Mornington. It was a good sized field this week bolstered
with the welcome re-appearance of a very bleary eyed Callan. It was great to
see that he had even managed to get out of his house wearing a clean T-Shirt
& not one covered in stale vomited milk !
Well done sir. I can promise you
that things will only get easier
..
no, wait
.. thats wrong isnt it.
Anyway, to the racing & nothing
much has changed in the last few weeks at all really. Adrian is still quick, and he proved this
again by taking out this weeks round in style with a total of 115 laps from
Phil a lap back on 114 & the baby boy himself, Callan in third, on 113. Well done on a great comeback! The top three
were a class above the rest of the field and it was a further 5 laps back to myself
in a very distant 4th place on 108. John Batich was close behind in
5th on 107, with Dave Bantoft in 6th on 106 & then Bruce
Thomas, who did a Brock & jumped in a second car after his own had died and
finished 7th on 105 laps. Rob Golley slotted into 8th on
102, Dave Gray with a good drive in 9th on 100 & rounding out
the top 10 Chris Priest on 98 laps. Rhys unfortunately decided he didnt need
to bring along a V8 Supercar this week, and so was forced to borrow a loaner
which saw him finish rather lower than his usual standard in 11th on
94 laps. Finally, in 12th, Thomas Males after a great first couple
of brackets drove consistently enough to rack up 90 laps for the round.
Top 3
1st Adrian, 2nd
Phil, 3rd Callan
